MacKay, John Francis – 45 of Truro passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2015 at home. Born in Truro, he was the son of John Charles MacKay and Katherine (Brooks) Leslie. John enjoyed whittling and also loved to sing. John had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. Besides his parents, he is survived by daughters, Nikki and Mary MacKay; sister, Sherry (Chris) Googoo, Millbrook; niece, Brianna and nephew C.J. Googoo; granddaughter, Kiera Ava and grandson, Daniel John MacKay; stepfather, Glen Leslie, Sheet Harbour. He was predeceased by his daughter Alana MacKay. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 10, from 6-8 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Millbrook, on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 am, with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating.
