It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Elaine Stonehouse, age 92, of Springhill. Doris passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Highcrest Nursing Home.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Major and Melisa (Rushton) Goodwin.
Doris loved to keep busy, playing cards, knitting, and reading, but most important in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Irene (Owen) Wood, Parrsboro, Barbara (John Smith) Stonehouse, Springhill; son, Ronald, Springhill; several grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oswald Stonehouse; brothers, Robert and Harry; sister, June Jewkes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Service, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from noon until 2 pm. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2 pm, Rev. Wayne McCarther officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
