William "Bill"  Cunningham

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William "Bill" Bannerman Cunningham. Bill passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Stellarton, NS, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (McLellan) Cunningham.
Bill was a Professor Emeritus of Economics at Mount Allison University where he taught for over 30 years. He was active in the Sackville Curling Club and the Sackville Golf and Country Club. He especially loved to play Bridge and Pool. Bill loved life, and traveled the world, having visited both the Arctic and the Antarctic after the age of 80. He was an avid reader and writer, and wrote several books.
He will be sadly missed by his children Marilyn Cunningham (Frank Beaumont), Moncton, Norbert (Phyllis), Petitcodiac, Randy (Chris), Moncton, Lorinda Cormier (Don), Regina, SK, Bruce (Shirley), Regina, SK, Michelle (Bob) Hicks, Belleville, ON; step-children, Martin (Tara) Treash, Orillia, ON, Kathy Treash (Andrew Black), Sackville, Andrew (Jenny) Treash, Ajax, ON, Susan Treash (Matt Nogueira), former wife Ruth Miller and her daughter Heather MacDonald; lifelong friend Alice Love; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister Barbara (Richard) Leech, Ottawa, ON.
He was predeceased by his first wife Mary Ann Fowler, his third wife Christine Cole; son William "Bill" Henry; siblings Henry, Fraser, Jessie Cunningham, and Louise Brown.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours took place on Monday, April 6, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life was held from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. Rev. John Perkin officiated. A light lunch followed. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill may give to the Care-Alive Foundation for Epilepsy or the charity of your choice.
