David James McDonald

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, David James McDonald, of Bedford, P.E.I., age 75 years, passed away peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Unit on March 24, 2015.
Beloved husband and best friend of Maddie (Madeline Ervine) McDonald. Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his son, Nick McDonald (Bonnie) of Edmonton, Alberta; two daughters, Lisa McDonald Folliott (Tim) of Vancouver, B.C., and Marley McDonald-Dow (John) of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; one sister, Patricia Corbin; and his grandchildren, Matt and Alex Folliott, Lindsay Ross, Miranda McDonald, and Sophie Dow.
He will also be fondly remembered by his wife’s children, Wendy Linton (Wade) of Charlottetown, P.E.I. and Peter Linton (Cindy) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; his adopted grandchildren, Katelyn and Jessie Shelfoon of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Deanna Iskiw (Brandon) of Edmonton, Alberta; John, Tim and Kayley Linton of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Predeceased by his parents Rose and David McDonald, and one brother, Stephen.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Cancer Treatment Centre, Units #1 and #2 of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and the Provincial Palliative Care Centre for all their care and compassion they gave to David during his illness.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where a memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of David may be made to the P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or the Provincial Palliative Care Unit. www.belvederefh.com
