Mary Elizabeth Green (nee Sigsworth)

Mary Elizabeth Green (nee Sigsworth)

At the Prince Edward Home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, our much loved mother died peacefully surrounded by her children in her 87 year.
A smart, witty, creative woman, teacher, wife, mother and friend, Mom cared for her family with love, practicality and wisdom. Although Mom’s world became smaller and more challenging due to a diagnosis of vascular dementia in 2005, she always retained her ability to show her love for her husband, children and the caring staff of PE Home 2 East and Valour Hall.
Left to celebrate her legacy of love are her seven children: Mary Beth Parsons (Les), Stephen (Hanoki), Larry (Victoria), Sharon Anne (Jamie), Maura, Vincent (Margaret), John David (Becky). Cherishing memories of their grandmother are: Caitie (Kyle), Ben (Amy), Colin, Joseph, Alison, Spencer, Devon, Gia, Nicole, and Caleb. Mom was able to enjoy meeting her great granddaughter, Ellie. Mom will also be missed by her niece Michelle Schmidt (Joe) and Caitie’s mother, Cathy Telfer.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Frank Sigsworth, and Ethel ( Dorsey) Gillis, Sigsworth, her brothers, Stephen Gillis and Frank Sigsworth Jr. and sister-in-law, Cora Grant. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, John Eldon Green and their young son, John Eldon Jr.
Resting at the Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Friday, April 10, 2015 from 3-6 p.m. Funeral mass to be celebrated Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Holy Redeemer Church at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations made to Prince Edward Home would be appreciated.
