WHITE, FREDERICK "BOB"
Frederick Joseph "Bob" White, 89, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2015 with family by his side. Born on February 14, 1926, in Moncton, Bob was the son of the late Henry and Marion (Crockett) White.
He will always be remembered for his kindheartedness towards his beloved family, friends, neighbours and all those who were fortunate to work alongside him.
Bob served in the Royal Canadian Navy (1943-1946) and worked for Transport Canada (1946-1983). He was a member of the Riverview Veterans' Association, the Federal Superannuates National Association, and past president of the Moncton C.S. Credit Union. He also received the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 1977. In 1949,
Bob married the love of his life, Rose Alice (DeVona), with whom he lived out his dreams until her passing in February 2011. During their 61 years of marriage, Bob's love for Rose and their children shone bright. His heart was warmed at the birth of each of his eight children and for the many years to follow, he proved time and time again, the love and dedication he had toward his children: Henry, of Ottawa, ON; John (Dorothy), of Moncton, NB; Deborah (Jean-Guy) Chiasson of Charlo, NB; Sandra (David) D'Amours, of Riverview, NB; Rosanne (Terry) Hamilton, of Barrie, ON; Marion (Jerry Cook) White, of Balla Philip, NB; and Joanne (Robert) Boone, of Hammonds Plains, NS; thirteen grandchildren; Kevin (Sarah) and Laura White, Allan (Victoria) White, Mathieu (Danielle) Chiasson, Tracy and Christopher D'Amours, Shawn and Craig Hamilton, Brittany Cook, Mitchell, Connor, Rachel and Gregory Boone; and five great-grandchildren; Charles and Alexandre White, Isabella and Kasey Chiasson, and Cameron D'Amours.
Bob was predeceased by his parents; sister, Joan Teasdale; wife, Rose; and son, William "Bill" White.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, NB, E1E 3V9, (506) 852-3530. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, with a reception to follow, in the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Chris and Paulette Wallace and all who cared for Bob at ProTem Health Services, Dr. Michelle Conrod and Dr. Roberts Forbes for the excellent care provided.
