Passed away peacefully at Western Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, Mavis Hatcher at the age of 74 years. Left to mourn are her husband Joseph of 53 years; children: Diane (Gary) and Jeffrey (Krista); grandchildren: Beverly Ann (Andrew), Kelly, Benjamin and Jacob; sisters: Lucy, Maureen (Harry), Geraldine and Shirley (Dennis); brothers: Gordon and Nathaniel (Eva); sisters-in-law Margaret and Loretta; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Alexander and Agnes, brothers Harold and Clifford, sister-in-law Marina, and brothers-in-law Karl and Joseph. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 11 from 2 - 5 p.m. at Fillatre's Funeral Home on St. Mark's Avenue in Corner Brook. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 12 at 3 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Chapel, St. Mark's Avenue with Rev. Rosemarie Payne officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
