Wayne Arthur Irving

Irving, Wayne Arthur , 71, Truro

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Arthur Irving of Truro on April 9, 2015. Wayne passed away peacefully in the Truro Hospital after battling cancer with a quiet dignity.
Wayne worked for many years at the NSLC and after retiring spent his summers in Malagash. He enjoyed golfing, hanging out at Walker Street Auto Centre and cheering for his beloved Toronto Blue Jays. He is survived by the love of his life, Dixie Duggan, his daughter Dale Barnes of Westville, son Bradd Irving (Debra) Edmonton, stepdaughter Georgie Fleck (Janice Porter) Seafoam, grandchildren Jayna, Cory, Kyle, Quinn & Lauren, his loving sisters Deanna Moore of Brookfield, Gail Frizzell of Bible Hill, Brenda Stewart of Wellington and his second family the Boutilier clan Alice and her children Belinda, Doug, Deb, Ross, Herb & Zylpha and their families. Wayne was predeceased by his infant son Cory Irving, his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Irving and brothers-in-law Carl Moore and Leo Frizzell all of Truro and his faithful companion, his dog Rusty. We would like to thank Dr. Hart, the nurses and staff on 3B at the VG and Dr’s Smith and Henderson and the nurses in the palliative care unit at the Truro hospital for their compassion. Special thank you to Wayne’s many friends for their visits & taxi service to Wayne’s appointments. They say that raising a child takes a village, helping a person who is ill takes a small town. Next time you drive down Davies Lane in Malagash, in the right light, you may see Wayne riding his lawn mower and wearing his “Dam I’m Good” hat. We all agree Wayne and we’ll all miss you forever. To honor Wayne’s request there will be no service or funeral. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Watson Cemetery in Truro. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro where online condolences may be made at: www.colchestercommunity.com.
