Mildred Clark

Born: December 24th, 1923

NEW GLASGOW – Mildred “Millie” Clark (nee Latimer), 91, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 12, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Lancaster County, Durham, England, she was a daughter of the late William Askew and Rachel (Goodchild) Latimer.
Millie was five years old when she left England with her family. They made a harrowing voyage from Southampton to Halifax aboard the SS Arabic, landing at Pier 21. The Latimers initially settled in the Seafoam area of Nova Scotia, later moving to Westville.
Millie was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles every day. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Just prior to entering Palliative Care, Millie lived on her own. Millie’s family is deeply grateful for the ongoing support that daughter Lee provided over the years to help mom maintain her independence.
Surviving are her children:, Lee (Gerard) Pellerine, New Glasgow; Kent (Deborah) Clark, Tennessee, USA; Gail MacLeod (Richard King) Middle Sackville; Peter (Dianne) Clark, Quispamsis, NB; grandchildren: Todd (Wanda) Pellerine, Aaron (Jody) Pellerine, Zachary (Savanah) Clark, Pamela Clark (Alexander Arvelo-McQuaig), Justin (Hailey) Clark, and Daniel (Kailynn) Clark; great-grandchildren: Noah and Abby Pellerine, Brianna Clark.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Howard Clark; brother, George Henry Latimer; grandson, Robbie MacLeod.
As per Millie’s wishes, there will not be any public viewing. A private family service will be held at a later date at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations may be made in Millie’s memory to Children’s Wish Foundation Of Canada, Nova Scotia Chapter, Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton or the Aberdeen Health Palliative Care Unit Endowment.
