MORTON, JEAN
The death of Rhoda Jean Morton, 81, of Moncton, occurred Sunday, 12 April 2015, at 4pm, as she quietly and peacefully passed from this life into the next, to the arms of her everlasting Lord and Saviour, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Born in Targettville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Thurrott and Dorothea Donaher. She was a wife, mother, xray technician, bank teller and Christian. She enjoyed life, family, friends and travel. She persevered to the finish line, with the sure knowledge, she was ready for eternity. She attended the Moncton Gospel Hall.
In September 1953, she came to the realization and accepted by faith that: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
She is survived by her faithful husband of 62 years, Lester Garth Morton; her siblings, Phyllis (Gerard) Jourdain of Montreal, QC, Ralph of Toronto, ON, Blair (Annette) and Lloyd (Elizabeth) all of Moncton, Ruth of Windsor, ON, and Glenna (Ralph) Christensen of Oshawa, ON. Children, Daryl (Holly) of Kingston, NB, Marlene (Glen) Davis of Calgary, AB and Neil (Renata) of McQuade, NB. Grandchildren, Sarah, Korey (Shalyn), Matthew (Christina), Brittany and Kaleb, all of Calgary, AB; Daniel (Marissa) of Bellisle Creek, NB; Seth, William and Elkanah, all of Kingston, NB; Ariana, Ethan, Owen and Amy, all of McQuade, NB. Great grandchildren, Tayla of Calgary and Isaiah of Bellisle Creek. As well as many nephews and nieces from here to Texas to BC to China. Her passing will be mourned by her family.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995) with visitation on Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:30 pm with Mr. Jonathan Procopio officiating. Reception following the service. Interment will be at Gladeside Cemetery later in the spring.
