Margaret Russell Shepley (nee Adams) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday April 11, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Shepley. Margaret is survived by her sons: Bryan (Melina) Shepley of Estevan SK; Christopher (Colleen) Shepley of Bruno SK; daughters: Catherine (Dale) Ashton of Calgary, AB; Lori (Mark) Leugner of Regina, SK; Rhonda (David) McCrea of Calgary, AB; as well as eleven grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in Birch River, MB. to Russell and Ruth Adams, April 29, 1938. Her parents passed away when she was a very young girl and she spent those early years in Brandon MB, living with her Aunt, Uncle and cousins. She attended an all-girls Catholic boarding school while working at the Mental Hospital in Brandon. She moved to Essondale, BC to attend the School of Psychiatric Nursing and receiving her diploma in 1960. While attending school she met Jack Shepley who she married in August of 1959. They moved to Moose Jaw, SK to start their family. Her time was spent raising her five children which gave her much joy. She worked at Valley View for many years as a seamstress. Margaret had many interests; square dancing, baking, doing all sorts of crafts from crocheting, sewing and many more, but quilting became her passion in 1979. Margaret was one of the founders of the Moose Jaw Prairie Hearts Quilt Guild. She shared her work, talents, and was known for her beautiful quilts which showcased her artistic creativity. The Celebration of Marg’s life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery at a later date. For those so wishing, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated.
