Agatha (Dot) Mary
Passed peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, April 13th, 2015, age 92 years. Predeceased by her husband William; sons Ronald and Dermot; infant son; three sisters Margaret James, Catherine Walsh, Evelyn Gushue, and her three brothers Lawrence, James and David. Left with fond and loving memories her sons Bill, Aiden (Theresa), Ray (Donna); daughters Elaine Walters (Wayne), and Janet Brown (Don). As well her brother Gerald Whelan (Gertie); sister-in-law, Margaret Crotty (California); brothers-in-law John Heffernan and Michael Heffernan (Judy), nine grandchildren, sixteen great grand children and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Agatha was one of the first residents of Mount Pearl, having moved there in 1953, and she still enjoyed the independence of living in her own home at the time of her passing. One of Agatha's favorite past times was watching baseball. She was an ardent fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and one of her fondest memories was travelling to Toronto several years ago to watch them play. Another hobby was a good game of Crib and she spent many happy hours in this pursuit over the years with special friends, Betty Walsh and Annie Broderick. She will also be missed by her friend, Irene, and her daughters, Andrea and Laura, who adopted Agatha as their grandmother many years ago when she baby sat them in her home. As an extended member of their family, "Nanny Heffernan" continued to be an important part of their lives throughout the years. Visitation will take place at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday April 15 7:00-9:00 pm and Thursday April 16 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm.
