On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones, Alan Leo Foley joined his spiritual family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John (Bunny) and Mary Isabel (Murphy) Foley.
Alan was a custodian for the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board for over 40 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Arlene (Simmons) and children, Aaron (Sarah Tremblay), Regina, Sask., and Alison of CFB Petawawa, Ont.; brothers, Tommy (Peggy), Billy and Michael; sisters, Mary and Anne; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Alan was predeceased by his sister Patsy Foley and brother-in-law David Saulnier.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, April 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Glace Bay Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Norman MacPhee officiating. The interment will take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
