Reed, Rev. Howard Pineo
The passing of Rev. Howard Pineo Reed of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Mary (Gough) Reed, occurred on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Born on June 22, 1919 in Springfield, NB, he was the son of the late Dow and Bessie (Clark) Reed. He was a Pastor of several churches in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Maine, and retired in Noonan, NB, where he remained until 2011, when he moved to Terraces on Cliffe in Fredericton, NB. He was Dean of the United Pentecostal Bible Institute (now known as Northeast Christian College) for four years and founded Capital Community Church (formerly First United Pentecostal Church) during that time. His passion was his concern for the souls of men, women and children and their need to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. He thoroughly enjoyed carpentry and built churches, pews, pulpits and communion tables, as well as multiple other pieces of furniture. He and Mary were known for their music ministry, and he still enjoyed playing the tambourine at services at Terraces on Cliffe during recent months.

He is survived by his three daughters, Florence Mills (Phillip) of Marysville, NB, Necia Dobson (Larry) and Connie Smith (David) both of Fredericton, NB; son-in- law, Kit Brown of Cumberland Bay, NB; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, David Reed (Carlynn) of Toronto, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Darlene Brown and brothers, Neil, Robert “Bob”, Paul and Irvine.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Capital Community Church on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1 pm with Rev. Phillip Mills officiating and Pastor Jack Leaman assisting.
