John Jack Lessie

Card of Thanks
“Gratitude” as the description reads,” sense of being thankful”, but yet it seems inadequate to express how I, Debbie, the wife of the late John (Jack) Lessie, feels as well as my siblings. Words cannot convey nor capture how truly thankful we are to all those who shared with us in our loss of husband, son, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend whom we so dearly loved. To all those who called, sent food, mass cards, sympathy cards, memorial donations, floral tributes, monetary donations, as well as those from far and near who participated, by your presence during the memorial service, we thank you sincerely. To Father Paul Murphy for your visits, spiritual guidance, and the beautiful memorial service, as well as your heartfelt homily, thank you. You captured the true essence of Jack. To niece Lesa, for your heartfelt tribute to Jack, you knew him well and did him proud. To the honorary pallbearers, David French, Elmer Muise, Ken McLeod, Scott Burt, Robbie French, Brian McNeil, Myron McNeil, Tom Conohan, Sam Dicks, Daryl Yates, Joey Dezagiacomo & Michael Alteen, thank you. To Urn Bearer, Donnie Floyd, Jack would be so proud of you. You carried him with pride and dignity.
To the lectors, Jim & Orella McNeil, as well as Germaine McLeod who proclaimed beautifully, we thank you. To the Senior Choir of Holy Redeemer, organist and choir director, thank you for enhancing the liturgy. To my family Bev (Elmer) Muise, Germaine (Ken) McLeod, David (Mary) French, Annette French, all the nieces, nephews and cousins, thank you for the unending support and love throughout Jack’s courageous journey. For the many meals, desserts, visits, and phone calls to our home and at the hospital, thank you. Jack and I could not have walked this without you. It gave us the strength to continue. To nephew David for the many visits with your two precious angels, thank you. It brought much joy to Jack’s days.
To niece Wendy, for the daily phone calls and words of comfort, thank you. To nephew Donnie for ensuring we were safe in our home and for going above and beyond no matter what the request, I will always be grateful. To those that helped during snow storms making sure the VON and Palliative Care team could visit, thank you. To the entire VON team that came to our home and brought much comfort to Jack, especially Karen Macdonald, we thank you. Niece Lesa and Nephew Trevor, what can I say, you gave freely of your time every night giving me peace of mind as well as filling Jack’s nights with love and laughter especially when he would wake and ask if you were hungry so you would share in a late night snack with him. To the Shoppers Drugmart Team, whose kindness will not be forgotten, thank you. For those that cared for Jack along the way, especially Dr. Gammell, Dr. K. Khodadad, Dr. Mahmound-Ahmed, Dr. Burns, Dr. Crosby, Dr. Dugas, Dr. Ritter, Dr. Harless, Dr. Azer and nurses Eleanor, Laurie, Adele, Claudette, Mary Ruth and our special Angels in the An Cala Palliative Care Unit along with the volunteers, thank you sincerely. The compassion, kindness and professionalism shown to Jack was a testament of who each of you were. You gave Jack a quality of life I will always be grateful for.
To sister-in-law Mary, sister Germaine, nieces Rhonda, Janine, Andrea and Kori, thank you for all your help with the obituary as well as presentation of pictures. To Brother David, brothers-in-law Elmer and Kenny as well as friends Tom Conohan, Daryl Yates, Ron MacMillan, Danny Taylor and Jack’s Tim Horton buddies. Thank you for the time you spent with Jack. To all our friends, especially Albert & Selena, Joey and Leona, Sam, Collette, Ava and Zoey , thank you, Jack cherished and respected your friendship. To Rose Conohan, thank you for managing the reception, as always it was lovely. For those I may have forgotten, please forgive me.
To Bill Laurie, and his staff at the Pier Community Funeral Home, words cannot express our gratitude for your professionalism, attention to detail as well as compassion shown to each of us. Bill, the verse and release of the doves were beautiful and captured everyone’s heart. It was so evident just how loved Jack was, and this gave us great comfort during this difficult time. Heartfelt thanks to one and all.
God Bless you
Wife Debbie, sisters-in-law Beverly (Elmer) Muise, Germaine (Kenny) McLeod, Annette French, Brother-in-law David (Mary) French and their families.
