Passed away at St. Luke's Home, Douglas Maxwell Chafe age 84. Predeceased by his parents, Minnie and Maxwell, of St. John's. Leaving to mourn his wife, Shirley, sons Paul: his children Morgan, Curtis and their mother, Heather. Stephen (Cathy): their children Alexandra, Thomas. Philip (Lori): their children Emily and Heather. Also leaving to mourn loving brother Robert (Eleanor) and their children, as well as a large circle of loyal and caring friends. He will be resting at Barrett's Funeral Home on Hamilton Avenue. Visitation will take place on Monday and Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 29 at 2:30pm at The Anglican Cathedral. Cremation has taken place with internment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Emmaus House, or charity of one's choice. Special thanks to the caring and dedicated staff at Pleasantview Terrace at St. Luke's Home, who have been our second family for the past five years, and to his only brother, retired reverend Robert Chafe who was by his side to the end.
