Passed peacefully away on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge, Olive Pennell, age 88 years (born June 18, 1926), formerly of Carmanville. Predeceased by: her husband, Eldon Pennell (2010); her parents, Virtue and Allan Weste; her brother, Will; her sisters, Sarah Goodyear and Flossie Tippett; and her great-grandson Robbie Barrow. Lovingly remembered and cherished by her five daughters: Jacqueline Barrow (Jim Traynor), Gail Wiseman (Pleman), Netta Healey (John Snow), Trudy Versluis (John), and Jocelyn Chaytor (Gordon); 15 grandchildren: Jerry Barrow, Robert Barrow, Tammy Vincent (Rob), Cory Wiseman (Becky), Joclyn Sceviour (Kent), Chad Wiseman (Jennifer), Jonathan Wiseman (Tanya), Jeremy Wiseman (Samantha), Robyn Healey (Jeff Byrne), Suzanne Edwards (Terry), Cody Parsons (Megan), Jenny Parsons, Julie Chaytor (Tim Zekveld), Allison Chaytor, and Stephen Chaytor; 17 great-grandchildren; special friends, Sadie Milley and Lillie Collins; as well as many other family members and friends. Special thanks to the staff on Meadow Lane and Harmony Hall at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge - especially Faye Pardy, and to Dr. Aaron McKim, as well as Major Darlene Colbourne, for their exceptional support to Mom and our family. Also, a special thank you to friends Blanche Pike, Georgi Maud Thorne and Heather French at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Wednesday, April 29, with visitations from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Also resting at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Carmanville on Thursday, April 30, with visitations from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Carmanville on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olive's memory to Carmanville Bethel Pentecostal Church, 40 Noggin Cove Road, Carmanville, NL A0G 1N0.
