DEVEAU, RUBY HELENA
Ruby Helena Deveau, 81, of Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Born in St. Marys Rd., Kings Co., PEI, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Gormley) Murphy.
Ruby lived each and every day to the fullest. During her early years raising a family and enjoying her passion for sewing and gardening or working outside the home where she had twenty years of service with UAP / NAPA and made many lifelong friends. Once retired, some of the best years of her life were spent travelling with her husband, Fred, spending time with her grandchildren and always trying to make time for the late life passion she had for the game of golf.
Ruby will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Fred Deveau; daughters, Janice Stoddard (Rick) of Moncton and Yolande Goodine (Mike) of Rothesay; sons, Camille Deveau (Annette) and Neil Deveau (Paula), both of Moncton; grandchildren, Dayna, Ryan, Alex, Lauren, Kate, Tommy, Zachary and Christien; sisters, Edna Wall of St. Catharines, ON and Anne Ballum of Milton, ON; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Colette Deveau (2015); three brothers and six sisters.
Funeral Mass at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion Street, on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:00 am, with Rev. Charles Broderick presiding. Reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
In Ruby’s memory, donations to JDRF or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
