It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Elwin LeRoux, on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in New Aberdeen, Glace Bay on May 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Urban and Molly (Farrell). He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carmie (McInnis); sister, Marie Cathcart; children, Darryl (Mary), Elwin (Monique), Wendy and grandchildren, Nicole, Emily, Ryan, Taylor, Matthew, Jordan, Adam, Andrew and Brendan.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Marlene, Mildred, Mabel, Annette and brothers, Tossie and Reggie.
Elwin retired from the CBRM in 2000 after 25 years of service. He was recognized as a volunteer for his many years giving back to the New Aberdeen community through the New Aberdeen Police Boys Club. He was dedicated to his family, friends and community. He will be missed by all.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, at Curry’s Glace Bay Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 4, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church followed by a reception in the church foyer. A private family interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery.
