BEYEA, LLOYD MURRAY
On Friday, May 1, 2015 Lloyd Murray Beyea, loving husband of Valerie (Millican) Beyea, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born July 16, 1927 in Saint John, NB., he is the son of the late Clara Blanche (Ward) Beyea and the late Lee Beyea.
Murray worked as a Baker for many years, with the majority of his time spent working for Titus Bakery. In his earlier days, he enjoyed fishing, sports and played mens' softball. He also coached softball and basketball. Murray was a definite Blue Jays fan, but his greatest passion was for the kids at the Saint John Boys and Girls Club. He spent more than 50 years volunteering his time for whatever was needed at the Club. Murray will be missed.
In addition to his beloved wife Valerie of 63 years, Murray is survived by his son Chuck Beyea (Kathy); daughter Gail Gray (Terry); sister Blanche Yeoman; grandchildren Amanda Watkins (Kenny), Arianna Beyea and Justin Beyea, as well as, several extended family members and his loyal canine companion Holly.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Charlie, Ronnie, Parker, Cecil and Graham, and by his sister Frances (Lance).
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Murray’s wishes, cremation will take place, and visiting will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. There will be a funeral Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Forest Hills Baptist Church at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow at the church. A private family interment will be held in Fernhill Cemetery.
Donations in Murray’s memory, made to the Saint John Boys and Girls Club, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
