Adshade, Melvin Lewis – 81, Pugwash, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Little River, he was a son of the late Ancel and Eva (Moore) Adshade. Mel had worked as a manager with Union Gas and later as a watchman at the Windsor Salt Mine, Pugwash. Surviving are his wife, Darlene (Ouderkirk) Adshade; son, Stephen (Sharon), Guelph, Ont.; grandchildren, Stephen (Hawley), Ryan (Ashley), all of Guelph; Jarrett (Rosca), Stettler, Alberta; Krysta (Tyler) Garton, Kitchener, Ont; great-grandchildren, Brianna Garton and Hudsyn Adshade; brothers, Arnold (Brenda), British Columbia; Sherman, Springhill; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth and Reginald; sister, Lois Shipley. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River, with a reception to follow at the Wallace River Baptist Church Hall.
