OUTHOUSE, Woodrow Hamilton “Woody” – age 88 of Tiverton, NS passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in the Digby General Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Tiverton, he was a son of the late Earl and Doris (Webb) Outhouse. Woody was a longtime and founding member of the Tiverton Fire Department, served as Commissioner with the Village of Tiverton, retired from the Tiverton Ferry and was active in the NSGEU. He was very active in his community having served as past president and founding member of the Tiverton Board of Trade, was involved in the development of the Balancing Rock and the Tiverton Tourist Bureau which has now been renamed as the Woodrow Outhouse Centre. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years the former Eunice Rodgers, Tiverton; his daughter, Susan (Raymond) Titus, Tiverton; his son, James “Jim” (Patricia) Outhouse, Westport; grandchildren Philip (Tanya) Outhouse, Kentville; Grant (Monica) Outhouse, Ingomar; Kirk (Jodi) Outhouse, Auburn; Chad Titus (Kim Walker), Vancouver, BC; Renee Titus (Mike Donkin), Moncton, NB; Jason Titus, Freeport; his great-grandchildren Maddy and Austin; his nieces, Barbara Haight, Gloria Howard, Patricia Theriault; his nephews, Glen Outhouse, Randy Outhouse, Billy James, Frankie James, Bobby James, Peter James, Sammy Howard; last surviving first cousin Edwin Ossinger and will be sadly missed by his favourite feline companion “Mr. Fancy Pants”. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Alvin Outhouse and Boyd Outhouse. Visitation will be held 7:00PM-9:00PM Thursday, May 7, 2015 in the Tiverton Christian Church where the funeral service will be held 3:00PM Friday, May 8, 2015 with Mr. Lou Outhouse and Pastor Rick Small officiating. Interment will be held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Tiverton Fire Department or to the charity of choice.
