Robert Hallett

HALLETT, ROBERT DONALD
Robert Donald Hallett. A life remembered and a life well lived.

Born September 21, 1937, he was the third of four children to Donald and Helen Hallett. Robert grew up in Kingsclear New Brunswick and was raised on a farm where he learned at an early age the true meaning of hard work. This work ethic followed him throughout and in all aspects of his life. It was a trait that served him well.

As a young adult Robert played on Neill's softball team- a team that in 2004 was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports wall of fame. This was an accomplishment that he shared proudly with his brother Royce and several other talented Fredericton locals.

Robert met his beautiful bride Jo-Anne (Keenan) when they were both attending high school. Together for over 59 years and married for almost 52, they had two children - a son Robert Todd and a daughter Kari-Ann. Without a doubt his children were the focal point of his world and the light of his life.

Robert worked with NB Power as a customer service man for 27 years - a job he was deeply devoted to and took a great amount of pride in. That held true until 1990 when Robert suffered a devastating illness and was unable to return to the job that he loved. But, thanks to the devotion of his beloved wife, his strong circle of friends, and one very special caregiver Robert enjoyed a retirement full of travel, and activity despite the lingering effects of his illness.

So this is the story of Robert Hallett. A man who believed in hard work, a man devoted to his wife and family, a man always willing to lend a hand and a man who was most certainly loved by all who knew him.
Robert is pre-deceased by both his mother and father, his sister Bertha Rawn , brother in law Carl Rawn, and brother in law Gerald Reed. He is survived by his wife Jo-Anne, his son Todd (Debbie), his daughter Kari-Ann (Robbie Colwell), his sister Shirley Reed, his brother Royce Hallett (Claudia), his brother in law Peter Keenan, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held with pride at Holy Family Parish on Saturday May 9, 2015 at 11 am. Reception to follow at the Delta Hotel in the Royal suite.

In lieu of flowers the family would deeply appreciate it if you made a donation to Hospice Fredericton or a charity close to your heart. Bishop’s Funeral Home have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Robert will be deeply missed every day......
