CROSS, Zarna Mavis – age 81 of Middleton, NS passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton surrounded by her family. Zarna worked for many years as a cook at Eisnor’s Restaurant in Middleton. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and playing darts. Zarna was a great cook and an avid bingo player. She is survived by her children, Linda Grant, Greenwood; Judy Sabean (Fred Maxner), Lequille; Kendall (Kathy) Cross, Nictaux Falls; Dale Cross, Paradise; Elizabeth Everett, Berwick; grandchildren Evelina, Jason, Jody, Troy, Jordin, Bradley, Devin, Lance, Garrett, Macayla; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Joyce Fredericks, Middleton; brother Blair (Barbara) Crouse, Brickton; several nieces and nephews and companion Roger Stanton. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Visitation was held Sunday, May 5, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service was held Monday, May 6, 2015 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in Zarna’s memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
