TRENTON - George Baxter “Bax” Ryan, age 81, of Eleventh Street, Trenton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2015, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late Herbert and Grace (Leithead) Ryan. Bax served 25 years with the Canadian Armed Forces (RCCFS), from 1956-1981. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34, New Glasgow. Bax worked as a dispatcher for the Town of Trenton from 1983-1997.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie (Jenkins); daughter, Janet (Chris) Ryan-Kemp, RR1 Eureka; son, Craig (Brenda) Ryan, Westville; grandchildren: Stan (Rose Lynn) Ryan; Jim Ryan; James (Shannon) Wood; Jennifer Wood; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Jean (Bill) Ainslie, Parksville, Vancouver Island.
He was predeceased by a brother, John James “Jack” Ryan.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A private committal service will take place. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
