It is with great sadness that we, the family of Marie Boone, 61, announce the passing of our dear daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on May 8, 2015. Surrounded by her loving family, Marie passed away peacefully.
Raised in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of Margaret (Holland) and the late Daniel Mac Mullin.
Besides her mother Margaret, Marie is survived by her four sons, Blair (Sasha), Steven (Crystal). both of Calgary, and Robert 'Rob' (Jenny), Brendan (Jenny), both of Bateston; and her six precious grandchildren, Mila, Ava, Ella, Jack, Nolan and Myra. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwen, Maureen, Caroline, Wendy, Roseanne and brother Daniel as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, Marie was predeceased by her husband Jimmy Boone.
For more than 30 years, Marie was a devoted and passionate employee of the Children’s Aid Society. She was a cherished mentor to many fellow employees, and made an immeasurable impact on her field of social work.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, Main-a-Dieu with Fr. Raj. officiating. Interment to take place in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow at the Bateson Athletic Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Centre or Palliative Care Unit at CBRH.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home.
