David Charles ‘Eggo’ Morgan, 81 passed away, May 12 2015 in the Glace Bay Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late William and Florence (Sheppard) Morgan. Eggo started his early career moving houses and hauling waste for Bill Cook of New Aberdeen. He worked for N.S. Building Supplies, Cameron’s Building Supplies and later as a building superintendent while living for a short period in Caledonia, Ont. before returning home in 2006.
Eggo was an avid card player, who always enjoyed the company of friends. He was an animal lover who made no excuses for the attention they required. He was a proud father and grandfather "Poppy", who appreciated the small joys life had to offer. He will be remembered to many as a man ‘set in his ways’ with a heart of gold.
Eggo is survived by his son, Jimmy Morgan; daughters, Sharon (Clyde) MacLean, Karen (Michael) Haley, Linda Morgan, all of Glace Bay; son, Billy (Kaarlo) O’Neill Toronto; daughter, Terri (Sheldon) McNeil, Caledonia, Ont.; siblings, Jeanette Castaldi, Toronto, Claudette (Len) Murrin Lethbridge Alta., Janice (Tom) Kennedy, Glace Bay. He will also be forever remembered by grandchildren, Barry, Cynthia, Michael, Steven, Patricia, Kevin, Matthew and Ashley and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Eggo was predeceased by his late wife, Josephine (Josie) O’Neill and daughter, Nancy (Bucky) Morgan; siblings, Pearle (Jim) Sharpe, Eleanor (Pete) Coady, Allister (Eleanor) Morgan, Olive (Burt) Ringe.
There’s a card game in Heaven with a seat waiting for you.
At Eggo’s request there will be no service and cremation will take place at Patten Funeral Home with a private family interment at a later date.
