MARR, IRMA ADELAIDE
Irma A. Marr of Burtts Corner, NB passed away May 12, 2015 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Irma was born at Cloverdale, Car. Co., NB in 1919, a daughter of the late Rankin and Carrie (Wallace) Chute.
She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed knitting socks or mittens for them each Christmas. She was a member of the Burtts Corner Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Society and sang in the church choir for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Hawkins and Mary Flemming (Leo), both of Burtts Corner, NB; two sons, Donald Marr (Linda), Millville, NB and Peter Marr (Trudy), York Mills, NB; a son-in-law, Delmont Thornton, Waterville, NB; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; a brother-in-law, Stewart Somerville, Taymouth, NB; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arley Marr in 2000; a son, Lloyd Marr; a daughter, Lorraine Thornton; a granddaughter, Cindy Marr-Stairs and an infant grandson Peter Marr; six sisters, Mamie McKeil, Atrude Tucker, Thelma Crabbe, Sadie Hull, Laura Stairs and Nellie Somerville; five brothers, Garfield, Alva, Harold, Gerald and Elmer Chute.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Burtts Corner Baptist Church, 1034 Route 104, Burtts Corner, NB on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Hoyt officiating. Interment will follow at the Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
