Bessie Helen MacGibbon, 100, passed peacefully into the hands of our heavenly Father, with dignity and grace, just as she lived her life, on May 7, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Bessie was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend.
Born Sept. 30, 1914, in Sydney, she was the daughter of Joshua J. and Lilia (King) Baker (England), and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Bessie was a dedicated member of Calvin United Church, a proud life member of the United Church Women, PM of former MacLeod Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and life member of Queen Elizabeth Chapter, Sydney. She loved life, attending church, OES meetings, gardening indoors and out, (and could get anything to grow), oil painting, ceramics, knitting, baking, decorating, entertaining family and friends, and picking berries with Dad until dark. She was kind and gentle of spirit, and always concerned about the well-being of others. Above all Bessie loved her family, both near and far, and we loved her with all our hearts and will miss her forever.

Predeceased by her husband, Hector, only son, Malcolm, sisters, Lilia (Clinton) MacDonald, Bertha (Bill) Somers, brothers, Joseph (Margaret) Baker, Victor (Bessie) Baker, Arthur (Mary) Baker.
