TEAKLES, IRIS
Surrounded by her family Iris Christena Teakles (Gaunce) passed away peacefully on Friday May. 15, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice.
Born in 1936 in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Gaunce and Jessie Flewelling. She spent many years as a Home Care provider. She loved to care for people and had a caring heart and listening ear. Iris loved her family and enjoyed outings with her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandson. She enjoyed painting and jigsaw puzzles.
Iris will be sadly missed by daughter Kim Cormier (Teakles) of Saint John, NB; son Jamie Teakles of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Sarah Cormier and Tamara Teakles; two great-grandchildren Andrew and Lelianna; brother James Gaunce; special niece Teena (Lenny) Surette (Gaunce) and many more nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Iris was predeceased by her brother Edward Gaunce.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris O’Brien and the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care Iris received during her short stay there.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Keeping with Iris’ wishes there will be no visiation. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Iris’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice. www.castlefh.com
