It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary E. 'Nessie' White, age 94, of Sunnyside Drive, Reserve Mines. Mary passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Cape Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Annie (Murphy) MacNeil.
Mary worked for many years at the Cara Operation at Sydney Airport and the Miners Village restaurant.
Mary will be sadly missed by her daughters, Willena (Eric) Wilson, Reserve Mines, Debbie (Rick) Eagles, Sydney Forks, son, Sonny (Marnie), Reserve Mines. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William White and her 13 siblings.
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Fr. Norman MacPhee will be officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Reserve Mines.
Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
