NEW GLASGOW - Allan Hector “Gob” Paris, 74, of New Glasgow passed away peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late James Albert and Ida Alice (Jewell) Paris. He was a member of Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow and the Men’s Brotherhood. Allan had worked for different business over the years such as a masonry, carpenter, bartender, miner and labourer. Allan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, uncle and friend.
Surviving are children Darryl Paris (Mary), New Glasgow; Lorna (Roger) MacLellan, Antigonish; Lisa Paris (Raymond), Meteghan; De’anne Paris, Moncton; Leon Paris (Tanya), Moncton; and Michael Paris (Andrea), New Glasgow; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters Florrie Borden, New Glasgow; Peggy (Dave) Cosh, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Doreen Paris, New Glasgow; Teresa Paris, London, Ontario; brothers James (Ann) Paris, Laval, Quebec; Thomas Paris, Montreal, Quebec; and his former wife, Estelle Jane Paris, New Glasgow; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside his parents, Allan was predeceased by his sisters Maxine Paris, Mildred Major, Clara Paris and Nancy Paris; brothers Barry Paris, John Paris and Norman “Turk” Paris.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 21 in P & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 22 in Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Moses Adekola officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
