It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Adele DeGaust 65, May 17, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in the An Cala Unit, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Glace Bay, Adele was the daughter of the late Rod and Mary (MacAdam) DeGaust.
Adele is survived by her loving partner Charles 'Chuck' Morrison; her children Jason and his children Mackie, Oscar, and Lois all of Dartmouth; her daughter Jill, Wolfville and Joel of Edmonton; her siblings Lorne (Lorrie) of Ottawa, Leone Winters of Bedford and Patricia (Milo) Crowe of Sydney. Also left to mourn are Chucks siblings, Wayne, Shirley, Mary, children Laurel, Giselle, Devon, Logan, Taylor and families, who thought the world of Adele, several nieces and nephews who all thought of Adele more as an older sister and friend.
She was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
To know Adele was to love her and she made a lasting impression on all who came in contact with her.
As per her request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will take place Thursday May 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Resurrection Cemetery in Sydney Forks with Rev. Leo Boone officiating. A celebration of her life will be held from 7-11 p.m. at the Sydney Curling Club, all are welcomed.
Memorials may be made to Palliative Care An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or VON.
