Norma Barbara Colburne (nee Pope)

Colburne (nee Pope), Norma Barbara - Truro
With sadness we announce that Norma Barbara Colburne (nee Pope) beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbour and friend passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Norma was predeceased by Ralph, her husband of 53 years, in 2007. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Isabel Greene (Norman) and Marjorie Scott (Vaughan) both of Moncton. Norma is survived by her son, Ian (Donna) Truro; her daughter, Kathryn (Charles Kenney) Dartmouth; her daughter, Alexis (Jim Walton) Canmore, AB; her five beloved grandchildren, Amy (Aron Seewald); Jeff (Tanya); Megan (Luke Adams); Hannah & Zoe Walton and her six beloved great-grandchildren, Logan & Chloe Seewald; Caden & Joni Colburne; Cole & Jenson Adams and several nieces and nephews. With a zest for life, Norma touched the lives of all those around her with her love for her family, neighbours and friends; her amazing Christmas Spirit; her backyard flowers; her delicious meals and the ability to always have that plate of cookies and squares just waiting to be passed around when anyone would drop in for a visit or cup of tea. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends, but our hearts are lightened knowing that she is with Ralph again planning their next beach vacation or camping adventure. We were all blessed to have known her. The family would like to thank Mom’s neighbours for always being there for Mom with your food, delivery of newspapers, always keeping her driveway and walkways free from snow and most importantly your friendship. She loved her home and the neighbourhood. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Colchester Community Workshops Foundation, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association. Condolences to the family may be made at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
