It is with great sadness that the family of Shelia Mary Pettigrew age 76 of Amherst announce her passing on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Springhill, NS she was a daughter of Elsie (LeBlanc) Amon of Springhill and the late Arthur Amon.
Sheila was a member of the 50+ club in Amherst and enjoyed playing darts and cards with her friends. She was bowler and a member of the Ladies Bowling League.
She is survived by her children Katherine Pettigrew of Edmonton, AB, Mae (Rod) Black and Jean (Frank) Occomore both of Amherst, Lester (Katherine DeVere-Pettigrew) of Amherst and Elsie Pettigrew of Amherst, three sisters Donna Gogan of Springhill, Patricia (Ian) Munroe of Amherst and Sharon (Ted) Darragh of Springhill, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband Lester Jr. two daughters Patricia and Debra.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Sheila’s memory may be made to the Bridge Workshop in Amherst.
