FLETCHER, MARY
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Fletcher on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Sussex Health Center.
She will live on in the hearts of George her loving husband for over 39 years, her sister Trudi MacLean and her husband Tom of Mahone Bay, NS and her brother Francis MacKenzie and his wife Lyndon of Glace Bay, NS, and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mary was born in Glace Gay, Nova Scotia on June 19, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude Edna (Gillis) MacKenzie both of Glace Bay.
Mary and George met in Halifax and resided in the Caribbean and Florida for over 25 years, where George held financial management positions with a number of hotel chains. They retired back to Coles Island in 2006 where they had maintained a summer residence for many years. Mary loved her home and friends; she was an avid reader, cat lover and possessed a great sense of humour.
Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home 34 Sunnyside Dr. Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176. In honour of Mary's wishes, no visitation will be held. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at Grand Washademoak Lion's Club Community Center, Coles Island on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
