Martin Joseph
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, Martin Joseph O'Brien, a lifetime resident of Blackmarsh Road, in his 79th year. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Anastasia (Breen); brothers Thomas, James and Francis; sisters Louise (Margaret) Shea and Mary. Leaving to mourn his sisters Joan (Lawrence) Watkins of Ottawa and Dail Ann (Perry) Janes of Edmonton; his aunt Alice (O'Brien) and Uncle Max Emberley of Mount Pearl; his loving cousins Ray (Sadie) O'Brien of Holyrood and Steve (Frankie) O'Brien of the Goulds, and a large circle of relatives and friends. The family would like to acknowledge all those who did so much for Martin throughout the years, from bringing meals to him, to clearing snow, bringing in wood and their regular visits to his home. Special among these are Walter and Guy Badcock and his faithful friend of thirty plus years Ruth Babstock. Special thanks to Gully Pond Manor in Kelligrews and Glenbrook Lodge for their care during Martin's last months. Waking at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa?s Church, Mundy Pond. At Martin's request cremation has taken place; inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow the Funeral Mass. Flowers gratefully accepted.
