Elsie Moore

MOORE, Elsie Norma – age 92 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Graywood, she was a daughter of the late Harris and Daisy (Wright) Sibbins. Elsie retired after working many years with the Laundry Department at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. She had a love for rug hooking and loved her family dearly. Elsie was a wonderful Mom, Grammie and Great Grammie who was always there for us and always loved us, no matter what. She was a very giving person; expecting nothing in return. She very much enjoyed her independence and we are so thankful that she never had to give this up. She had a memory unsurpassed by none. She was our “go-to person” for dates and family history, not only for her own family but for our Dad's as well. She had a great sense of humor and loved to be teased. Elsie will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Norma (Wayne) Graham and Mona Moore, both of Nictaux; her sister, Emma Audrey Sibbins, Berwick; her grandchildren, Stacy (Hank) Pilgram, Stewiacke; Jeremy (Christina) Piper, Listowell, ON; Peter Gillis, Torbrook; her great grandchildren, Andon, Lily, Triston, Payton, Hayden and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lauris; sisters, Zella, Minerva, Rose, Eda and brothers Vernon, Winnett, Lewis and Merton. In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Friday, May 22, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Elsie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. On-line guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
