Passed in: Westmount, Canada
Passed on: May 21st, 2015

We, the family of Robert William 'Bob' Kingsbury, wish to announce his passing on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at home.
Born Jan. 28, 1933, he was a son of the late Albert and Effie (Spracklin) Kingsbury.
From the age of 17, Bob worked at the Cape Breton Post, retiring in 1995. Following retirement, after 46 years at the Cape Breton Post, Bob started his second career as a steady volunteer at the Two Rivers Wildlife Park for the next 18 years. He fed all the small animals and bears. Bob loved all the animals and made them his pets. He didn’t like to be indoors and could be found shoveling his or his neighbours driveway at the first sight of a snowflake. Every day, Bob would be seen walking his dog, Sonny through the field. He was also the caretaker at Westmount United Church for 15 years.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Lillian (Keigan); daughters, Linda (Ray Campbell), Sydney River and Marg, Westmount; sons, Robert (Patty), Sydney and Kevin (Jaime Dehnke), Woodstock, N. B.; sisters, Eileen Kingsbury, Sydney and Carol (Rick) Cameron, Halifax; brother, Albert (Betty), Kentville; grandson, Ryne; and his faithful companion Sonny, his golden lab.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday 11 a.m., with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to the Westmount United Church or the Two Rivers Wildlife Park.
Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or email sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
