Emms: Audrey Elaine Emms, age 70, of Hazlet, SK passed away May 9, 2015 in Swift Current, SK. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015 from Hazlet Community Hall with Elaine Little and Carola Anderson. The soloist was Lisa Casey singing "One day at a time". The eulogist were Blake and Lisa Penna. The Pallbearers were Travis Penna, Tyler Penna, Travis Brumwell, Kevin Emms, Tyler Hutchenson and Brad Thue. The interment service was held at the Hazlet Cemetery. Audrey is survived her children Faye and Don Keenleyside and their children Brytni (Robert), Jessie and Cole; Lisa and Tom Garven and their children Davin and Sennarey; Kurt and Amanda Emms and their children Teagan and Brielle; brothers John and Lynne Penna and family; Pete and Darlene Penna and family; brother-in-law Gordon Emms and family; sister-in-law Sharon Paugh and family. She was predeceased by her husband Alvin Emms; parents Sam and Ruby Penna and brothers Gorden and David Penna. Audrey was born in Kincaid, SK on May 29, 1944. She attended school in Mankota and on November 27, 1965, she married Alvin George Emms in Mankota. Audrey worked at the Sage Drug Store, the CIBC in Mankota and Regina and finally in Swift Current. She was a member of the UCAL, the United Church and the Rink Board. Audrey loved the farm life. She raised chickens and pigs and grew a beautiful garden. She was into almost every craft out there, including making porcelain dolls, quilting, crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking, sewing, leather crafting, and making birthday cakes. She also continued doing books for many local organizations including the church, cemetery and rink board. Audrey was a woman who loved her family deeply. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She often travelled to their dance recitals, track meets, volleyball, hockey and soccer games. She was known around town for her "Grandma buns" and chocolate chip cookies. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to the Hazlet Community Hall. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
