SCAMMELL, MARY PAULE
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 27, 2015, Mrs. Mary Paule (Tardiff) Scammell, wife of the late Vincent G. Scammell formerly of St. George, NB. Born at Causapscal, PQ. on June 28, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Donat and Yvonne (Dube) Tardif.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mary is survived by her children: Dianne (Stuart) Hawkins of Pennfield, NB, Lorraine (Leo) Palk of St. George, NB, Gerald (Mary) Scammell of St. George, NB, Joseph (Patricia) Scammell of Caithness, NB, John (Cathy) Scammell of St. George, NB, Connie (Douglas) Murray of Caithness, NB, James Scammell of Saint John, NB, Laurie (David) Mattie of St. George, NB and Tony Scammell of Moncton, NB, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one brother; Wilfred Tardiff of Montreal, PQ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins including nieces; Mary Corchrane, Barb Purton and nephew; Allan Fiander.
In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by her daughter Maria Jeannette, grandson Shawn Scammell and a sister Mary Martha Landry.
Mary was a devoted Mother to her wonderful family which gave her the greatest enjoyment in her life. She loved knitting and can be often found to be cheering on her beloved Blue Jays. She will be fondly missed.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. As keeping with Mary's wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George's Catholic Church, St. George, NB on Saturday at 11:00 am with Father Rolando Suplido officiating, followed by the interment in the parish cemetery.
In Mary's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
The family would also wish to extend a heart felt thanks to the staff of Passamaquaddy Lodge for their kind and compassionate care Mary received over the years.
