MACDONALD, BERNARD “BERNIE” GEORGE
The passing of Bernard “Bernie” George MacDonald of Fredericton, NB husband of Carol occurred on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at home. Born on May 13, 1948 in Souris, PE, he was the son of the late George and Genevieve (Fisher) MacDonald. He was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Bernie was a baseball umpire and enjoyed watching sports especially hockey and baseball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings, Jay MacDonald, Francis MacDonald (Marion), Calvin MacDonald (Cathy), Bonita Chlow (John), Gerard MacDonald (Jayne) and John MacDonald (Linda); several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two infant brothers, Walter and Stanley MacDonald.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2 to 5 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
