We, the family of Lillian Bernice MacAskill, 82, of Gabarus, wish to announce her passing on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney.
Born in Gabarus, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Annie (Bagnell) MacLean.
Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Anne (Richard) Chandler, Whycocomagh; sons, Malcolm Dan (Cheryl Bernier), Edmonton, Alta., Stewart, Gabarus and John Angus, Caribou Marsh; sister, Alice Richards, Sydney; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Donald John; daughter, Linda Jean Austin; sister, Dorothy; brothers, Gordon, Fulton and Stuart; grandson, Michael Dan; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Lahey.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Zion Wesley United Church on Thursday 11 a.m., with Nancy Whitney-Latham, DLM officiating. Interment in Zion Cemetery.
