Anna Rita DeCoste, 95, of Cape Jack, Havre Boucher passed away peacefully on May 31, 2015 at Miners Memorial Manor, Sydney Mines, where she resided for the last three years.
Rita was the daughter of the late Mark and Mary Rose (Breen) DeCoste. She was born and lived most of her life in Cape Jack, in her later years; she resided with her sister, Betty and family in East Bay. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s parish, Havre Boucher
Rita enjoyed being with friends and family, playing bingo and quilting. She greeted everyone into her home with a warm welcome and was a kind and giving daughter, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her sister, Betty (Timothy) LeVangie, several nieces and nephews and her dear friends, Carl and Jean DeCoste and their daughter, Cara.
Rita was predeceased by her brothers, Edgar, Everett and Raymond.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kohlsmith and the staff of Miners Memorial Manor for the excellent care Rita received.
Resting in St. Paul’s Centre, Havre Boucher on Thursday from 9 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. Funeral mass will be offered Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Havre Boucher, with Rev. Allan MacPhie, presiding, burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Parish Cemetery Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
