It is with great sadness that the family of Gerry Kennedy announces his sudden passing at Ajax Pickering Hospital on January 26th, 2009. He leaves behind his darling “Doogie”, Noreen, wife of 55 years, and his two children Sharon (Kennedy) Baker and her husband David of Pickering Ontario and Dave Kennedy and his wife Patti of Barrie, Ontario. His grandchildren, Jeff, Joel and Sabrina Kennedy and Taylor and Meghan Baker will miss their Poppa, as will his great grandchildren, Noah Kennedy and Sarah and Andrew Kennedy. Gerry was born in Nova Scotia, married and raised his children in Newfoundland, and lived and worked in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario. Gerry was a Chartered Accountant and was awarded a Life Membership in 2000 in recognition of his contribution to the profession. Gerry was active in his community and had many hobbies, including amateur radio, video production and radio controlled aircraft. A private family ceremony will be held in Ajax, On followed by a celebration of Gerry’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the War Amputations of Canada are appreciated.
