BROWN, IONA JENNIE
Iona J. Brown, 89, of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Enterprise St., Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, June 1, 2015. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late William and Eva (Killam) Brown.
Iona was formerly employed with the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. and retired from the CNR offices as Supervisor of Data Processing, Atlantic Canada, with 34 years’ service. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Moncton and former member of the Church choir. A fine needle woman, she also enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends.
Iona will be sadly missed by her niece, Carolyn Munro (Paul) of Fredericton and nephew, Carl Rogers (Deborah) of Ontario; great-nieces and nephew, Marcia Dysart (Jonathan), Scott Munro (Christine Baillie) and Kelly Rainey (Ian); several great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brother, George Brown and sister, Hazel Rogers.
The family would like to thank the Staff at K. E. Spencer Memorial Home for the care and compassion shown to Iona during her stay.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, followed immediately by a Service to celebrate Iona’s life at 1:30 pm, with Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In memory of Iona, donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
