Loran Peppard Morrison

Loran Peppard Morrison- Truro, born on July 11th 1951, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015.
Loran was born in Toronto where his father; (James) Loran Morrison was on the police force. The family moved to Nova Scotia when he was two and opened a mom and pop store in Economy. He began his career in the Toronto Police Force following in his father’s footsteps. He later joined Amherst police force, then became a member of the Truro Police Service for 23 years, and retired at the rank of Corporal. Loran was well liked and respected by his co-workers and the community. Known as “Robocop” for his physique, he treated all those he met in the same way: with kindness, compassion and integrity. He was fair. He built a loving family, enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, loved his wife and trusted God.
Loran is predeceased by his father, James Loran Morrison; his mother, Iola (Peppard) Morrison. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Frances Mary Morrison; his brother, Jim Morrison; his sisters-in-law Andrea, Sheila, Jacqueline; his brothers-in-law, Jon, William; his nine children; Sonja (Chris) Johnson, Frances (Patrick) Kisch, Andrea Morrison, Lana (John) Boettcher, Loran Theresa Morrison, Luke Morrison, Matthew Levi Morrison, Daniel Morrison, David Morrison; nieces Jaya, Kemi; nephews Jacob, Michael, James, Leo; grandchildren Olivia, Amelie and Alexander. All those of you whose lives he touched, join us in the celebration of his life. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 4th at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 5th at 2 p.m. from Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating.
