Lucy “Levetia” Parsons passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the age of 88 years. Mom, we will remember your love and endless patience, your comfort food and baking, and your creativity with sewing and knitting needles. Thank you for teaching us honest values. You were our greatest gift! Born to Alexander and Viola Gibbons of Lumsden, Newfoundland, she is leaving a lifetime of fond and loving memories to her children, Joan Goodyear (Winston), Mary Watt (Douglas) and Elvis Parsons; her grandchildren, Nancy Cuff (Jeffrey), Dinah Goodyear (Douglas Hefford), Doreen Shea and Harris Goodyear; and great-grandchildren, Bella Cuff, Watson Cuff, and Fletcher Hefford. Levetia will be missed by her sisters Gertie Holloway, Marie Feltham, Gwen Wells (Tobias); and brothers, Lorenzo Gibbons (Betty), Eric Gibbons, and Cluny Gibbons; and sisters-in-law Minnie Norris and Mary Kean. Also saddened by her loss are Levetia’s true and faithful friends, Carolyn Simon (Labrador City, NL), Marian Smith (Mount Pearl, NL), Sharon Pye (Cochrane, AB); and Levetia’s devoted caregiver Elsa German (Calgary, AB). Levetia was predeceased by her loving husband Samuel Parsons (formerly from Newtown); grandson-in-law David Shea; sisters Millicent Pinsent and Greta Kean; and sisters-in-law, Marcella Gibbons, Ethel Way, Frances Kean, and Sadie Parsons.
