Ernest Francois Campeau, age 88, of Ponteix, SK. passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Le Foyer St. Joseph. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his sister, Cecile Campeau, of Regina, his nephew Steve (Lola) Piche and their children Celine and Monique of Saskatoon, niece Lori Kendall and her children Misti, T.J., Dustin and Sara of Ponteix, and niece, Rochelle (Sean) Finell and their children Connor and Kristin of Swift Current. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Emile and Maria, brother Fernand, sisters Rose Campeau and Terry Piche, brother-in-law Roger Piche and nephew-in-law Travis Kendall. Ernie was born October 4, 1926 in Ponteix, SK. At the very young age of 15, he took over the family farm after his father passed away. He farmed all his life and drove school bus for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was instrumental in bringing satellite TV to Ponteix as a member of the TV Club. Ernie loved antique cars and traveling. He was a very social person who could often be found visiting with friends and neighbours at the local coffee shop. He was extremely dedicated to and proud of his family. He will be missed by many. The funeral service was held Thursday, June 4,2015 at the Paroisse Notre Dame d' Auvergne with Fr. Amedee Ainemon. The interment service was held at Ponteix Cemetary. Memorial donations may be made to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home or the Ponteix Lab Equipment Fund.
