Carol Seely

SEELY, CAROL MARCIA, BSc, Biology, PHEc
Carol Seely, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 3, 2015.
Daughter of the late Peter Clarence Hill and Mary (Culley O’Brien) McGrath, she completed the two year programme at the New Brunswick Teacher’s College, Fredericton. Carol received her degree from Mt. Allison University, receiving her 50 year pin in 2014. Carol taught two years in the province of Quebec and thirty-three years in the local school district of Saint John, NB. She was the first editor of the magazine Winds of Change. Carol owned and showed horses and was a supporter of the Morgan Horse (AMHA). She spent the summers of her youth at Dalvay and Belmont. She was a member of Riverside Golf and Country Club for 50 years.
Carol will be missed by her loving husband Robert Brundage Seely of Saint John, NB; her daughter Helen Elizabeth (Jonathan) Seely of Saint John, NB; her uncle E. Culley O’Brien; sister Marilyn P. Ventzek; sister-in-law Pauline (Alex) Olyarchuk; nephews Dr. Peter L. G. Ventzek of Austin, TX; Phillip R.A. (Tracey) Ventzek of Moose Jaw, SK; Peter (Lizanne) Olyarchuk of Greenville, SC; and niece Janice (Gilles) Olyarchuk-Meyer of Paris, France.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 7 to 9 pm, and Thursday, June 11, 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Trinity Anglican Church, 1pm, with a reception to follow in the Bennett Room. Interment to take place at Oak Point Cemetery.
